Frequently asked questions

Q:What is the corporate tax rate in Singapore?

Singapore's standard corporate income tax rate is 17% of chargeable income. Exemptions and rebates have their own eligibility conditions and assessment-year requirements. A benefit for one year should not be treated as a permanent fixed rate, nor should final corporate tax be estimated simply by multiplying turnover by 17%. Q:Do Singapore companies have to undergo auditing?

Not all Singapore companies require an audit, but registration as a private company does not automatically provide exemption. The small-company exemption usually involves private-company status and criteria concerning revenue, assets and employee numbers; group conditions must also be checked where applicable. Audit exemption does not remove the need to prepare accounts or make filings. Reference: Singapore ACRA audit exemption criteria
